My Story

I fell in love with movement through ballet and gymnastics. Dance became my preferred method of communication as I grew into adulthood. To enhance artistry, I supplemented my training with yoga, Pilates, and weight training. Cross-training with interdisciplinary techniques strengthened my body for my passions, giving my career durability.

Today, I blend art with sport in my clients’ program design.

My Impetus

While at the University of California, Santa Barbara, a knee injury forever changed the trajectory of my Dance Major studies. After undergoing four knee surgeries in 4 months, I found myself combatting osteoarthritis, post-operative weight fluctuations, and learning to withstand the drastic change in my activity level. I was suddenly stagnant, a teenager watching physical therapy patients who were senior to me by half a century skip past me in agility and independence.

This knee injury resulted in resilience, patience, and forced me to learn intelligent training strategies.

While on crutches, I joined the men’s rowing team as a coxswain, commonly known as the on-the-water-coach. In this role, I began developing coaching skills and applying my newfound knowledge of exercise science. Meanwhile, my teammates encouraged me to excel in my rehabilitation. Pursuing an enhanced quality in my promenade, I studied Cotillion Ballroom Dance, which satisfied me creatively while filling any gaps in my post-operative physical therapy. The unrest I had experienced, while determined not to settle into a less mobile body, propelled me into the creative coach I am today.

Fast-forward fifteen years of personal training and education, and I continue to challenge myself professionally and as a performer. I rely on my foundation in functional fitness to provide joint stability and proper muscle engagement in all my movements. With unparalleled experiences, I constantly adapt to the challenges the human body brings with time. I am a forever student, learning from client experiences and evolving as an athlete and a fitness professional.

My passion for pain-free movement is personal and directed towards optimizing movements for each individual's unique body history, helping my clients achieve their fitness goals.” -Heidi Pasch
